Part-Time Position - Marina Assistant

Location: Priest Lake, Idaho

Position:  Marina Assistant

Duration: Weekends during the 2024 season (May 15 to Sep 15), with potential for additional days as needed

Compensation $14 per hour, hours per week vary based on seasonal demand and weather

Accommodation: Lodging available in the crew bunk above the boat house

Responsibilities:

1. Managing Rental Boats: Ensure rental boats are well-maintained, operational, and ready for customer use. Provide instructions and assistance to customers regarding boat operation and safety protocols.

2. Launching and Retrieving Rental Boats: Assist customers with launching and retrieving rental boats as needed. Maintain organized queues and efficient processes to minimize wait times.

3. Managing the Onsite Store: Oversee inventory, restocking, and organization of the onsite store. Provide excellent customer service, answer inquiries, and process transactions accurately.

4. Managing Rental Boat Websites: Update and maintain rental boat listings on various online platforms. Ensure accuracy of information, availability, and pricing.

5. Selling Things: Promote and sell merchandise, snacks, and other items available at the marina store. Utilize effective sales techniques to maximize revenue.

6. Using a POS: Operate point-of-sale systems to process customer transactions. Handle cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods securely and efficiently.

7. Supervised Jobs Around the Marina: Assist with miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning, maintenance, and landscaping to ensure the overall cleanliness and functionality of the marina.

Requirements:

- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Basic computer skills for managing online listings and using POS systems.

- Physical ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

- Previous experience in a similar role or familiarity with boating operations is preferred but not required.
